Wexford Collages

A series of collages done during my residency at Cowhouse Studios in Wexford, Ireland. A meditation on the Irish language inspired by writer Manchán Magan, Irish cuisine, and the land.

I collected materials from the surrounding forest, the kitchen, and my own musings written in the maadcode. Materials include fern leaves, wild sorrel, wheat, slate, goose feather, orange peel, pepper seeds, squash seeds, and tea, among others.

These works serve as a space for experimentation in a new body of work that pays homage to Feral Benga, a queer Senegalese dancer and contemporary of Josephine Baker.
